How come I burn so few calories during a workout?
I am always way below the amount of calories burned than your workouts suggest. I have used two different heart rate monitors and they seem to measure the same. For example, a workout claims 372 calories burned but my heart rate monitor reports 235 calories burned. I work hard during the workouts and my heart rate goes up easily to 85% of my maximum heart rate. However, my heart rate also drops very fast during recovery periods. On the treadmill I have even exercised to 92% of maximum heart rate with relative ease. I am generally fit and not overweight at all. I also don't sweat easily and never as much as the instructors even though I work out between the moderate version and the hard one.by: Smurf
Do you have your fitness level set to the harder level in your profile? Our numbers are meant to be an estimate, since everyone is different, so we'd suggest taking the average of our number and your HRM's number.
