I'm on day 5 of avoiding the Evil 6...are honey and 100% OJ an added sugar?

My nutritionist recommended pure Stevia or a very small amount of PURE maple syrup. Some people use agave syrup but she also told me to steer clear of it. You need very little of it either of those to sweeten things up a little. OJ like all other fruit juices does not retain it's fiber when it is processed (meaning what's left is sugar) and it would be better to eat an orange. :)

Stevia is an option for sure - but we do like you to stay away from sweeteners - honey and OJ would count as sweeteners.

Hi Andy, I like squeeze the juice of half an orange onto my salads instead of dressing... does fresh squeezed orange juice still fall into the category of a sweetener?

I think that a squeeze of ok in your salads is perfectly fine. It's only a few tablespoons after all.
