Impossible to follow Ignite?

  • I just started Ignite. I am a college student, and I live in a dorm. Obviously, I am limited on money and cooking space. I've drastically changed my eating habits in the past 8 months to foods like whole wheat bread, turkey breast, more fresh fruits and vegetables, light yogurts, etc. But I can't completely ignore ALL the "Evil 6". I can't really cook for myself. I don't have appliances. Does this render Ignite complete and totally useless to me? Any suggestions? Thanks!

What kind of appliances do you have? When I lived in a dorm I had a microwave and a mini fridge. You could make salads and keep veggies in your fridge, and I used to microwave things like sweet potatoes and steam veggies in a bag. Lunch meat like turkey and ham are good to keep, I made the turkey veggie wraps a lot. Heres the super easy recipe:

It also helps to get a magic bullet for smoothies, it's compact and easy to clean. As far as meat goes, I primarily stuck to a vegetarian diet so I'm not too sure about that. Maybe invest in a small George Foreman grill for individual portions of chicken and fish?

they have these great little packets at costco, fred meyers and walmart of microwavable pouches with brown rice and quinoa. good price and pretty good for brown rice which i've never been crazy about.
they have gotten me through the first couple weeks of this. they go great with soup and salad and thai/asian dishes.
