Weight loss and marathon training
I am in the process of training for my 4th half marathon and I would like to lose 30 lbs before the race in November. But I'm having a hard time keeping myself motivated and consistent. Any suggestions of how to stay on track and not get frustrated?by: Jenglewood
Hi there! Just as you've learned that half marathon training is about being in it for the long haul, so is weight loss. One bad run doesn't mean you'll ruin your race; one slipup at a meal doesn't mean you've totally derailed your weight loss.
Losing weight CAN be hard sometimes while training for a long distance race since many people tend to overestimate how much they can eat afterwards. Also, make sure you're incorporating speed work and strength workouts as well so that your body continues to be challenged.
