Why is the heart rate monitor I'm wearing showing a lot fewer calories burned than what I am seeing on computer for my progress?

  • I'm just curious how the one that is showing on the computer during my workouts can be correct if it isn't actually sync'd to anything. Is it based on my age, weight, height, etc?

Yes, it's just an estimate based on those three things. It also assumes that you aren't modifying (easier or harder), and that you don't take any extra breaks.
