I have a few that I think would add a lot of value: 1. A “Previous” and “Next” link by the day heading. It is most missed when the top display says “Today” or “Yesterday” becuase the popup calendar doesn’t show the current day on IE, so on top of all the clicks, I have to look around to remind myself of the current day. 2. Ability to select a meal and convert it into a recipe. This could work from the meal planner or from the recipe builder. 3. Search results similiar to the regular food selector. The results in the meal planner are much less rich in terms of providing information, which seems odd for a $$$ feature. 4. Better brand support. Include in search results and allow searching by brand. Very useful when trying to search based on restaurant chain. |

It would be nice to have the meal planner suggest foods that could fill in the gaps of missing goals. It could go through your favorite foods and recommend ones that would let you meet your goals without going over. |

Cool ideas guys. Keep them coming and we will use them to help us design the next iteration of the meal planner. |

I thought this was going to be a feature of going with pro. I also would love to have the meal planner suggest foods. I am also surprised that the recipes do not break down to the individual food items behind the scenes so that the food groups are updated. I would also love to see there being an incentive for people to actually list enough info on their recipe that would allow others prepare the item. Many items in the wiki style database are only entered for the person entering to track whatever it is they wish to track. I love the user editable database, but I often wish I could filter out some of the less helpful items. |

One important feature that I particulary miss is the ability to customize your daily amount of meals in the following ways: |

How about allowing Pro users to use the food category selector (like the meal planner) in normal food entry. In general, I think the more the operation of the meal planner and nutrition entry screen are the same, the smoother it will be for Pro users who switch back and forth between the two. |

Have I mentioned better brand support enough times. :) |

I’m thinking along the lines dhughes is. The meal planner would be much more useful if the foods we add to Gyminee could be categorized into the basic food groups. I admit foods like pizza and such might not fit into one specific category. This would be one more field to add in the food entry page. A quick and easy way to implement this would be with a multiselect box with the six food groups and an “other” category. |

Since the Meal Planner is a Pro only feature, the additional nutrition groups Pro users can see should be added to the “Planned Totals” section on the right. Sodium, potassium, fiber and cholesterol goals are important for people to be able to plan. |

You can configure food groups for any food by using the Meal Planner. If you add a food to a meal that has no groups set, you’ll see a ”?” icon, and clicking on that icon will pull down a control allowing you to specify the groups. |

When editing the food groups how do you know if the item is ounce, cup, ect for the group. Is there some sort of key for this? |

I’m with Przem on wanting to be able to add, edit, etc. the meals. (i.e. being able to add a 6th meal) |

I have two suggestions for meal planner/nutrition. First: Can we get all the nutrition categories on the meal planner screen? Currently it only shows the “main” four, calories, protein, etc. It doesn’t show “fiber”, “sodium”, etc. Second: Can the grocery list have a variable start date as well as end date? It’s kind of pain how it always includes “today”. I never buy food for the current day, I’m always buying for tomorrow+. So I have to manually subtract out the current’s day food when I print it out. Thanks. |

Thanks for the reminder. We designed the Meal Planner with this capability in mind, so we’re definitely planning on getting it done.
Good suggestion. We should be able to do that quickly (hopefully within the next week).
Another good point. We’ll try to work that in as well. |

I would love to be able to “share” a meal plan with another gyminee buddy. It would be handy to allow him to plan the dinner meals, and then copy it over to my planner so I can manage my meals throughout the rest of the day accordingly. |

I would really like the ability to add the time of the meal to the meal planner as well as be able to view the water intake and plan water in the meal planner |

i’m just adding a thought here, maybe I’m the only one with this (laziness) problem/ wish… EDIT: I just noticed that under “My Calendar” the days with meals planned are marked. So it shouldn’t be too big of a problem to do this in the mini-calendar on the meal planner, too or to introduce for past meal plans the option to “copy this meal plan to today/tomorrow” |

Need Food groups added from Recipes. The only way to do it now is to add group separately after adding recipe (without Groups). |

Please consider adding the “Plan this” option to the window that opens when we use the search feature in our favorite food list. I know it’s available in the list view, but I have 17 pages of foods to scroll through. Having the plan button as well as the “I ate this” currently there, would make using the meal planner much easier. Thank you!! ALSO – I know that you want these suggestions added to the new forum, but it wouldn’t open. |

Oh, DB- make my life easier! I’m working full time, commuting, in graduate school, have a family- if I had time to sit and plan my meals and shopping lists, I wouldn’t be 20 (well, 14.5 lbs now, after signing up 2 weeks ago!) lbs. overweight!
You may want to contact some of the stores that offer home delivery- imagine being linked to Safeway so that, if I got stuck at work, I could just look at my latest shopping list, edit (make that easy- a delete swipe on the iPhone app, and a + add button) it, and send the final list over to my Safeway acc’t to be delivered. A single digit percentage for you from Safeway, and a small amount off of delivery for me, and Safeway gets the sale – and a nice new customer base. Heck, have a collaboration with some of the grocery stores, say, a 5K to benefit whatever- great advertising. Thanks much for adding the meals (breakfast, dinner, etc) onto the iPhone app. Now- can you also, when the screen comes up to Link the UPC to the food, also provide the ability that I can, right then, also link a picture to it, as well? I’m anal, and like to have pictures! Thanks. You folks rock! |

Pro members at the very least should be able to edit food groups. Some people have allergies, etc., and should be able to modify or delete food groups. |
