It's been a while!
Ok, so I've got a new goal. Join the Colorado Air National Guard. This is going to require me to be in good shape with a lot of weight loss. I need to be down around 208 pounds to join. Time to start kickin' ass.

...Or maybe not.
So I definitely went in on Friday night, worked cardio intervals (85 steps per minute work, 55 rest on stairs) bench, lower abs, and some legs. Woke up on Saturday morning coughing like crazy. I was sick all weekend, and most of Monday, too. Even today has been kinda nasty. I think it's bronchitis...

Back in action
After no working out for two weeks thanks to this nasty cough/cold K.O., my Pops came down on Saturday to work out. We did cardio and upper body. Here it is, Tuesday morning, and my shoulders and chest still hurt. Yikes. Skipped the gym last night, but I'm headed in tonight for cardio and probably legs.

Meeting with Luis
I got a free trainer appointment, and I took advantage of this on Saturday. I met with Luis at the gym, he gave me some measurements and we set up some goals and stuff. He said a lot of my success will come from diet and nutrition, and I've very much changed the way I eat. Lots more meals at home, more snacks throughout the day instead of scarfing lots at mealtime, actually exercising...we think that I can be down to 230 by March!

Gettin' there.
I realized I wasn't working as hard on my HIIT as I should have been. I did four or five minute interval on the bike, then cooled down for a bit, then jumped on the stair climber. The Nautilus ones at my gym are awesome. They do 40-second intervals, and my work rate has been going up steadily. My rest rate is 50 stairs per minute, work rate is 80spm. I'm shooting for 90-100 in the next few weeks for HIIT. My cool-down has been a lap on the treadmill, about 5 minutes or so. I'm meeting with a trainer (the gym gave me an appointment for free!) on Saturday, so I'll be getting back into weights next week. I wonder how much I can leg press...
