About Me
I am a husband and father of two, a 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Now that my kids are always on the go, it is time for me to lose the weight to keep up with them and to be the role model they need. I need to be the example of a healthy lifestyle for them.

Enough of the depression.... dosomething about it
For the last several weeks I have been really unhappy with myself, almost to the point of depressed. I have focusing so much time and energy on work, that I haven't made time for myself... and lost all of the progress I made up to the MS 150 ride. The fact that i am 10 lbs away from my heaviest weight and about 25 lbs above my lowest, has just kept me in a funk with no motivation or desire to whittle away at the weight again. The sad thing is that I actually find myself avoiding doing things outside with my son because I will get winded or just don't have the energy to do anything. I recollect to how much energy I had when I was working out and riding consistently.... something has to give! Like so many others I know, it sounds almost cliche to say, but .................Today is the day! Instead of focusing on the end goal right now, I need to focus on the short term.... the decisions of one day. I need to make the right decisions for just one day... and that day is today. I will worry about and focus on tomorrow when tomorrow is here, but right now.... I am only concerned with today! That is my new daily mantra.... today is the day!

Back from vacation...
Ok, finally back from vacation and the real fun can start. My wife has finally decided it would be best for us to join the local YMCA, so i am canceling my gym membership and joining the Y tomorrow. Time to get back to the morning workouts and drop this weight before the MS bike ride!!
