About Me
I am a husband and father of two, a 7 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Now that my kids are always on the go, it is time for me to lose the weight to keep up with them and to be the role model they need. I need to be the example of a healthy lifestyle for them.

first triathlon in the books....
well today I completed my first sprint triathlon. 1/4 mile swim, 10 mile bike 3.1 mile run. Finished 1:30:55... not the fastest time by any means, but I didn't finish last in my group either. I have such a feeling of pride, that I chose to start training for something like this... then went out and did it. I didn't quit, I didn't give up... actually I enjoyed it and had fun... except for the ocean swim.... that was tough! next up is another century bike ride in a few weeks, then after that is a 172 mile bike ride over two day for the MS150 ride, which is always a great ride!.

back from vacation... time to work!
Just got back from vacation, tried like the dickens to stay eating lean and making the right decisions, but slipped quite a bit. There are 3 weeks until my first triathlon, so I need to get back to work and work hard! Thanks, JBaird for the post.

Glad to see
It seems you've really gotten yourself on track nicely since April. It's not easy but it's worth every little ounce of effort that you put into it. If I had known I could have lost over 100 lbs in 8 months I would have started this a long time ago. Every time before I seemed to plateau before I reached my goals but now that I have both nutrition and exercise in order I've made it past where I thought I wanted to be and coming up with new goals.
