Back in action
I've been having cold after cold, and then been to the States on vacation over the holidays. It's been over a month since I've been to the gym and I'm dyin' to get back. I'm starting my 3-day a week workout program again, starting tomorrow. I've gotta ease back into this!

Uh oh, I've lost too much weight!
Dammit! I've been pretty pleased when looking in the mirror lately. It's been my goal to reduce my waist size, trim my body fat, and get as close as I can to a six-pack. I almost made it there when my mother-in-law said I looked thin! I'd rather look "built", but maybe I got too distracted with my six-pack goal to notice I've lost too much weight. The first sign I ignored was that my 32" pants that had fit comfortably when I bought them a couple months ago had suddenly started falling off without the help of a belt. The biggest sign that got me suspicious was when my ring flew off my finger when closing my car door the other day. I'm an American living in Sweden, and everything is in Kilos here, so I never really bothered converting my weight to pounds to get a feel for where I should be. I did the conversion and I freaked! I went from weighing an ideal 170lbs with 6% unwanted body fat, to 160lbs with 2.5% unwanted body fat. SHIT! How does a person lose body fat while building muscle and at least "maintaining" their weight? I think it's time to cut back on my cardio.

Relapsing with a cold really blows
I used to get 1-2 colds a year. Since my son started daycare about 2 months ago, it seems we've gotten colds every other week! This latest cold has lasted a little over a week now and I'm achy all over. I'm dyin' to get back in the gym and feel like a normal, healthy human being again. I've just gotta wait this out I guess.

Nutrition is so much maintenance
I tried keeping track of nutrition info over the past couple days, and have even gone so far as to upload photos for all the custom meals I've had to measure and prepare. I've done this sort of thing before, and although I understand its value, it's just too hard to figure out what many of my meals contain. I have so many home-made meals, and many of the foods & ingredients I consume are Swedish! (I'm an Chicago-born American living in Sweden). It would be much easier if more foods I have were in the database here, but they're just not. As I had expected, I can see that I've been a bit high on Carbs over the past couple days and my protein intake is a bit low. (Doesn't help that it was the weekend and I had indulged with some wine & snacks). I have to admit that I'm totally bummed that I can't find the time to enter all my unique foods in here and take advantage of this kick-ass nutrition tool, but I'm banking on my past experience that I know when I'm crossing the line. I'll just have to focus on using the weight training section of the site and be sure to leave my blood, sweat & tears at the gym - along with all the fat I'll be burnin'! - Peace out!
