Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries
This decadent treat is a Valentine’s Day favorite, but you can eat it all year round.
- 4 whole strawberries
- 1 square of semi sweet baking chocolate
Place chocolate in a small bowl and melt by placing in a microwave for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and stir. Place the bowl back into the microwave for a few more minutes to melt the chocolate if you need to. Cut off the green tops of the berries and Insert a toothpick into the top of each strawberry. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate. Roll from side to side, then lift the berry out of the chocolate and continue to twist to coat the strawberry and prevent dripping. Place a funnel with the wide mouth down on your kitchen counter. Carefully insert the toothpick into the small part of the funnel, which balancing the strawberry on top. The bottom of the strawberry should be facing toward the ceiling. Let the chocolate set for a few minutes. Remove the strawberry from the funnel (use a fork to lift it if you need to, and place on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper. Repeat the dipping through cookie sheet steps, then refrigerate the cookies sheet of strawberries.
