I haven't done cardio ball, but I have substituted a dumbbell for the medicine ball before. Mostly because the lightest ball I could find is 6lbs, and sometimes I need 4lbs to work up to 6lbs. As long as you can do the move safely and feel the same muscles working I'm sure it's fine.

Acidique answered the Question: What should be my next program?

I kind of did the same path both of you did. By the time I was done with Cardio Sculpt I thought, well, I wasn't able to do ALL the things on advanced, so maybe I should go through it again. After about 3 days into my second round of CS, I was really feeling awesome. I could do ALL the hard things. So I thought I might benefit from starting a round of Inferno. Well, lemme tell ya!! Inferno will make you feel like a total beginner again! Haha. I love it. I definitely can't do all the things as quickly or as well as the instructors, but it is more of a challenge than CS had become. So, I recommend Inferno, but don't get discouraged if you find it difficult. Just keep at it!

I am finishing Cardio Sculpt tomorrow. I have enjoyed the program, and I have seen improvement for sure. I definitely couldn't do all the advanced moves even at the end. Should I repeat the program again? My main goal is weight loss, with a need for some toning, especially in the core and upper body. I still have about 20lbs to go.

    Acidique answered the Question: Newbie

Welcome, both of you! Honestly, the community here is kind of touch and go. There are some really helpful people that answer questions as they can, but there's no guarantee when they're around. The DailyBurn support staff answers sometimes as well, but I don't thing there's enough of them to support the influx of new people. Often their answers seems sort of canned, but not always. I think this site has a lot of potential, but it almost seems like they launched a little too soon. There are parts that feel unfinished. I certainly have seen results from my personal exercise routine on here, and so I have stayed past the trial. It's worth a try for sure. I am hoping in time they catch up with what they are actually trying to do. If they do, it will be a great site.

Acidique answered the Question: Why can't I loose my little belly pouch????? HELP

Are you eating 1200-1500 calories a day, and then burning 500-700 of those calories you ate, for a total calorie consumption of between 500-1000 calories? If so, you are NOT eating enough. You need a minimum of 1200 calories to keep your body from thinking it's being thrown into starvation so it clings to everything it can.

Acidique answered the Question: Can I use cornstarch during the Ignite phase?

I would recommend arrowroot. It's a natural thickener, but doesn't have any of the evil 6 in it.

Acidique asked the Question: Not losing weight?

I've been on Ignite for a week now. I've stuck to 1200 calories a day, keeping the evil 6 out of what I eat. I have a heart rate monitor, and so I eat back whatever I burn to keep the calorie count at 1200. So, if I eat 1200 calories all day, and burn 340 doing my daily workout, I'll eat roughly 340 calories to get my total back up to 1200. Am I doing this wrong?

I have 25lbs to lose, after having lost 80lbs already. I hit a plateau and thought this program might get me over the hump. I am just really confused and frustrated.

    Thanks.

Acidique answered the Question: Other recommended protein shakes.

I use PlantFusion. It's a pea/artichoke plant based protein supplement with stevia as a sweetener. I love it. I found it at my local Natural Grocers. Comes in Vanilla Bean and Chocolate here, but there may be more online.

Acidique answered the Question: Will there be an app for Xbox One?

I would like to know this as well. When I signed up it said it had an app for Xbox One, but now when I try to find it, it seems like the app is not actually available.

I personally use a heart rate monitor. I don't use the totals they offer at all. Sometimes I'll get as much as 150 calorie difference, plus or minus.

Acidique commented on GinaNilce's answer to Not losing weight?:

I think each person varies. I will go weeks without seeing a weight change, or weeks with weight gain...and then one morning I'll have dropped 5 lbs. I don't really understand how it works. My scale has kind of stopped moving in the last month, which makes me sad. I do get comments from people that I appear to have lost weight though. And I am definitely stronger. I take measurements once a month now. You would think after a certain point, even if you are exchanging fat for muscle, the scale does have to go down eventually. I dunno. I wish you luck!! I hope to hear later that you've seen progress!
