The estimated calories for exercise are rough estimates. It takes into account your gender, age (if given), and then uses an algorithm that was derived based on the statistics of average men and women using a 'medium' intensity.

TamaraDailyBurn answered the Question: What shake can I drink while on ignite

As long as the Lean Shakes from GNC do not contain the evil 6 or exceed the amount of daily added sugar, then you're all set to go!

TamaraDailyBurn answered the Question: What about the soy in my gum?

While it's a small amount ingested, we recommend trying a different brand of gum that does not contain soy while you're on Ignite.

It sounds like you're doing everything right! Oftentimes, you'll find that the scale isn't the best way to determine your overall fitness level because you're gaining muscle while losing fat which makes the "swap out" seem unfair on the scales. Monitor your measurements in the meantime (as well as feel good/better in your clothes) and keep up with the great work! The strength you're gaining today will help propel you into losing weight tomorrow. We're behind you all the way!

If you're currently on the 21 day Ignite phase, then you will need to find an alternative vitamin that does not contain soy or fermented wheat.

With the green light from your doctor to use an exercise program, the 'True Beginner' program is a great place to start; however, there are movements that will engage your core. You can preview each workout to see which moves are best for you before doing them. As an alternative you can try our 'Recover' program as well as go into the Discover page and check out our singular workouts by level of difficulty and time by logging in and going here: http://dailyburn.com/workout_... . In your case, I recommend selecting 'Easy', and '0-20' minutes workouts. Again, you will need to preview each workout to see which moves are best for you.

After 'Cardio Sculpt' you can try 'Total Cardio' or 'Intelliburn' which should keep you on the right track!

Muscle Milk contains whey and casein which is a dairy derivative, so we recommend replacing it with a non-dairy protein powder if you plan on sticking to Ignite guidelines. While it does not have the same flavor, another protein shake that adheres to the ignite guidelines would be the Vega Performance protein from bodybuilding.com. Perhaps you can try to find that protein locally in stores before you purchase online.

TamaraDailyBurn answered the Question: Preparing to Ignite

So glad you're about to start! There isn't any specific goals in terms of macro nutrients. As an example, here’s what a typical eating schedule looks like during your 21-day Ignite cycle.

breakfast (within 1 hour of waking): DailyBurn fuel Shake
Lunch: huge Salad with lots of greens veggies, chicken breast, olive oil
snack: Small handful of almonds and 1 small apple
Dinner (2-3 hours before bed): Salmon, broccoli, quinoa

Notice how there are no measurements next to the food. Remember, this isn’t calorie counting. Don’t over eat - just eat slow and eat until you feel satisfied. Your body knows what it’s doing, especially when you get rid of the “Evil 6”.

I'll make sure our team lays eyes on this and that it's on our list of features to consider when we're ready to make some changes. We're glad you're seeing great results! We hope to be able to bring more to the table this year for everyone when it comes to our offerings.

TamaraDailyBurn answered the Question: adding days to my program

I'm sorry to say that there isn't a way to adjust the days in an existing trial. As for what you can check out after you've finished 'Cardio Sculpt', you can try our 'Total Cardio' program by selecting it from the list here: http://dailyburn.com/programs

So glad to hear you've completed 'True Beginner'. The next program subscribers then move onto is the 'Cardio Sculpt' or 'Total Cardio' series which include 6 workouts a week with Yoga on the 7th day.

As for a recommendation, what you can do moving forward, if you find either Cardio Sculpt or Total Cardio too difficult, we checked in with Justin on what his recommendations are for those who finished 'True Beginner'. He said that going back to 'True Beginner' is just fine if other programs a bit too challenging. In going back to 'True Beginner' he asks that you find those moments where you were really challenged, and work on those. If you over-modified or took a lot of breaks, try it again without the modifications and breaks.

Sorry to hear about the soreness! While there isn't a way to customize an existing program calendar, you can definitely go around this restriction: Go to our Discover/Library section of the site. You can find the link along the top of your workouts homepage. From here you have access to our entire library of video workouts. You'll miss out on your regularly scheduled program's assigned workout for the day, but you'll at least be able to play the less intense workout of your choice. We recommend the 'Recover' program so that you can wind down and increase mobility while still getting in a good workout.
