Depending on who you ask, bean sprouts are considered a legume. It is disputed because bean sprouts are the SPROUTS from the bean, but not necessarily a "bean" per se.
Some diets, including the Paleo diet, call for limited or no legume consumption. Soy is also a no-no.
In sum, it depends on what diet you follow. Most diets say bean spouts, peas, and other seeds are A-OK.
