I'm prior military and am wanting to get back in shape for law enforcement. Just began day 1 of my workout today.
Wow.......to hike up a mountain. I too had surgery. In 2012 I had heart surgery so I feel your pain. Just dont rush into it and listen to your body. Dont hurt yourself.
Good luck. It will be hard at first but we can do it! Bsides it beter to do pt on our own terms vs being told to by our chain f command. Lol
Thank you. Girly push ups are a start. When I first joined the military I couldn't even do 10 girly ones. Lol.
No, your body is still responding but if you are doing them correctly then yes, you will gain weight. A way to show your progress if you really are worried is to buy a measuring tape and measuring your waist. If you are a male then measure your neck too. Get a chart of it. This is how the military measures people who weight more than their standards according to the scales. Good luck on your progress!
Actually, you really have LOST weight. The increase you saw is really from muscle mass. When I first joined the military, I was already slim but I gained about 10 pounds in muscle mass. You while loose fat but gain muscle. Its normal.
