    I agree with the above. Go with the fresh pear and if you still need additional sweetness use agave nectar or xylitol. Both are healthy and natural low glycemic sweeteners. Many people don't know xylitol: it is a natural sugar alcohol derived from tree bark and is very healthy and safe for diabetics. It looks and acts like sugar and it is NOT a fake sugar substitute created in a lab. You can find it at Whole Foods or online at a natural foods retailer
