    If your muscles are sore a day or two after your workout, then it means you had a good workout. The soreness comes from micro-tears in the muscle and your body is rebuilding itself to be able to compensate for the next time it has to bear that load. IE you are building muscle. Stretching and foam rolling can help with the pain, but don't over work your legs or it will take longer to heal

    I'm not a fan of tofu, but I try to avoid as much soy as possible. Have you thought about cottage cheese or greek yogurt, those are pretty healthy alternatives for extra protein boosts.

    I usually use Optimum Nutrition's Whey the same that firematches recommended, but I'm trying out the 100% Whey by GNC right now, it mixes easier, but there are a few more carbs in it than I'd prefer.

    Were you using weights for training during softball? If so, maybe just using body weight exercises to help even out the muscle tone.
