You need to eat! When you stop eating, your body hangs on to weight. If you DO lose, you'll start losing muscle. Go to MyFitnessPal and do some research. There are some great forum posts about how to set the correct calories for your current weight and specific goals.
I switch back and forth between the two - they are both good. You can do the jumps from inferno without the box and still get a great workout. Just bring your knees high.
So when we enter our weight, that isn't factored in at all to the calorie expenditure?
Yummmm... I love really dark chocolate!
Fat percentage is way more important than weight unless you need to lose massive amounts. For instance, if you are trying to lose 50 lbs., pay attention to the scale. If you are trying to lose 5 or 10, start looking for changes in the mirror, measurements, and clothes sizes. Muscle weights more than fat. So, one person could weight 150 but be fatty whereas another person of the same height could weigh 155 but have a lower body fat %.
I think it depends on you. Some people like to use measurements; some like scales; and others like the mirror and/or the way clothes fit. For me, I like the scale and tracking calories and exercise on MyFitnessPal. I think it all depends on what motivates YOU!
Congratulations for getting healthier. Absolutely no laughter here - I've got nothing but happiness and encouragement for you! I don't know what the DailyBurn app is like, but MyFitnessPal is great for counting calories. Some sort of food and exercise counter is a must!
Good luck - I think it is so amazing that you are both working so hard to get fit. I know your friends and family will appreciate it. My cousin's husband died of a heart attack at the young age of 50 because he kept gaining weight and was well over 350. He left my cousin (his wife of 19 years) and 2 pre-teen children. We all miss him so much!
I really appreciate that you combine great trainers in each category. There are other sites out there that aren't very well rounded.
That is awesome!
Here is my lines of defense:
1) Drink a big glass of water
2) If 1 doesn't work, then I eat a Chobani yogurt or eat some Xylitol mints (it's a natural sugar with the added benefit of preventing cavities)
3) if 1 or 2 don't work, then I buy a really dark chocolate (pretty good for you) and eat a couple of squares.
These are some of my favs: Kale, Broccoli, Red peppers, spinach, squash, red garnet yams, romaine lettuce, chard, Brussels spouts, peas, green beans, carrots. These are all really high in nutrients and quite filling.
People used to take cigarette breaks every hour or two. Can you take the same concept (obviously w/o the cigarettes) and go outside each hour or so for 5 minutes to walk and take deep breaths?
I don't eat much Soy, but I do put a bit of Organic Soymilk in my tea.
