Workout Program Description

This 6-week program created at hundredpushups.com will give you the ability to complete 100 consecutive push-ups!

Note that the final set each day should be run to max. The number given is a minimum.

Perform tests before weeks 1, 3, 5 and 6 to see how many consecutive push-ups you can do. Then use that number to choose the workout you will do daily.

If you cannot do 100 push-ups by the end of 6 weeks, redo weeks 5 and 6 to build strength.

Workouts

Description

Perform an initial test to see how many consecutive push-ups you can do. Choose the exercise matching how many push-ups you completed in the test. Rest at least 60 seconds between each set. For the final set, push to max, making sure you perform AT LEAST the amount of push-ups listed.

What People are Saying

halljr07

I think this will be a great program to help increase the total number of pushups I will be able to do consecutively. I look forward to hitting the 100 mark~

The program is out of sync with the original one, could you please update it?

Awesome Program

I agree with Flutinkat. Doing "unreal" push ups, I can do 70, but frankly I can only do about 30 proper push-ups.

Progress feels great

I really like the simplicity of this plan. I'm going to take a before and after picture from the 6 weeks and see if there's a difference. It sure feels like there's going to be, feeling the burn.

So the weight you put in is your body weight?

flutinkat

Ha, it's embarrassing how few "real pushups" I can do. Wow. Well, that's the use for the program.

100 Pushups

I chose this workout because pushups are a great workout and I'd like to be able to do 100 consecutive pushups.

gardenguy

cool plan

I like the number based goals reaching toward 100. Should be enjoyable to try to get all the way up to that number.

Updated

At the website hundredpushups.com, the program has been revised. The number of reps in each set has been shuffled around a bit.

The huge jump

Since this question never got answered...the reason that the program jumps from 5 reps to 15 reps when going from week 2 to week 3, is because you are supposed to re-test at the end of week 2. If you cannot do 16 push-ups, you go back to week 1 and start over, hopefully moving up from level 1 to level 2.

this program works.

I just started week 5 and can already do sets of 80. 100 is soooo close!

Push-up weight

I don't know if you guys saw this, but someone looked up the % of your body weight for each part of your body (hopefully that makes sense...) Anyways, I copied what they had written in my journal, and the upshot is that for push-ups you can use 75% of your body weight for the lbs part when filling in the workout sheet.

I just keep updating 1 workout

Then I can see the progress looking at total reps on the chart. http://www.gyminee.com/exercises/151949-Push-Ups

Question about graph.

Is there anyway of placing all the days you have done onto one graph instead of repeating points on different graphs?

RE: Workout sheet question?

The way I've been filling out the worksheet is removing the exercises that don't apply. As in if I fall into the I can do more than 10 reps, I remove the other two. I don't enter in weight since I doubt this will do a good job of calculating an angled weight... I use this website to calculate out calories burned for this workout: http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/tl/misc/caloriesburned.jsp

Nice...

I'm going to try to be faithful to this program along side the RHC. A little something that might be a "duh" to most, but I've read a couple of blogs from people doing the hundred push-up challenge. The main recommendation is that one should do this first before any other exercise. Like running. Or else you may just be spent by the time you get into position.

Workout sheet question?

When you fill out workout sheet, do you enter any weight in (% of body weight or something)? I was wondering so we can get accurate count of calories....

Update

For those interested, this program was updated on 7/23/08 as we had the wrong sets entered for weeks 5 and 6. It's all correct now!

Excellent to hear!

I'm thinking I may have to repeat weeks, too, lol.

Huge Jump Suddenly

Week 3, Day 2 seems to jump from 5 all the way to 15 ... I could barely do 5...so 15 just doesn't work. I'm having to repeat weeks on this.
