In addition to being quite delicious when cooked right, just one cup gives you enough vitamin C and K <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/articles\/284765.php\" target=\"_blank\">for the day<\/a>. Add in other nutrient-rich foods like walnuts, which are packed with <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/health\/omega-6-omega-3-foods\/\" target=\"_blank\">omega-3s<\/a>, and you\u2019re well on your way to a healthy meal. This salad has all the flavors of fall (apples and cranberries and nuts, oh my!) and can be served warm or cool at your next <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/recipes\/holiday-drinks-recipes\/\" target=\"_blank\">holiday<\/a> get-together. A squeeze of lemon juice will brighten up the flavors and keep the apple slices from browning for a picture-perfect dish.<\/p>\n<h3>Winter Brussels Sprouts Salad Recipe<\/h3>\n<p><em>Serves 6<br \/>\n<\/em>[skinnybox]<\/p>\n<p>Prep time: 15 minutes<br \/>\nCook time: 45 minutes<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1 1\/2 lbs fresh Brussels sprouts<br \/>\n3 tablespoons olive oil<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 medium-sized apple (Gala recommended)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup crushed walnuts<br \/>\n1\/3 cup dried cranberries<br \/>\n1 teaspoon lemon juice<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat your oven to 375\u00b0 F.<\/li>\n<li>Clean all of the Brussels sprouts and quickly pat them dry. Cut into halves.<\/li>\n<li>Toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil and salt.<\/li>\n<li>Lay them onto a non-stick baking tray and roast for 40 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and crispy.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the oven and let cool until warm.<\/li>\n<li>Using a microplane, slice your apple into thin pieces making sure not to go down to the core.
