Between rushing out the door in the a.m., putting in long hours at work and hurrying home to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/recipes\/30-minute-meals-dinner-ideas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cook dinner<\/a> at night, squeezing in a cardio session can feel close to impossible. (Hate running? Here are <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/cardio-workouts-cycling-rowing-hiit-plyometrics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">five other options<\/a> you can try.) But what if your boss would let you come in late \u2014 as long as you promised to hit the gym beforehand?<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/workout-motivation-beyond-perfect-body\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">19 Reasons to Work Out (Beyond the Perfect Body)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s exactly what\u2019s happening in one Turkish province this year. A new health initiative, called <em>Our Cure is Sport,<\/em> will allow government employees to arrive at work one hour late so that they fit in some exercise, according to a report from <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2015\/08\/07\/turkey-exercise-work-late-workers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Fortune<\/em><\/a> magazine. People participating in the program will also have access to a dietician \u2014\u00a0and get help finding a workout they love.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign is part of a broader effort to help fight the rise of obesity in Europe. In Turkey, nearly 62 percent of adults are overweight, and about 28 percent are obese. (That may sounds like a lot, but in the U.S. more than a third of adults are considered <em>obese<\/em>, according to the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/obesity\/data\/adult.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>.) What\u2019s most alarming in Turkey, though, is the obesity rate, which increased by 44 percent between 2002 and 2014, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turkstat.gov.tr\/Start.do;jsessionid=FgPJVKrBP94LvHJ2tVLsCfs3Dvh5NZTnwb5GSnF19FxjfMhjhnFL!361342977\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turkish Statistics Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The usual culprits \u2014\u00a0increased consumption of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/health\/news-processed-foods-study-040115\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">processed foods<\/a> and a lack of exercise \u2014\u00a0are likely to blame, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al-monitor.com\/pulse\/originals\/2014\/05\/turkey-obesity-crisis-diet-men-women.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>.
