Forward Fold<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why It Works:<\/strong> \u201cA forward fold stretches your hamstrings while helping you focus and feel your presence,\u201d says Lyons. It\u2019s a great one to start with to help you get centered as you begin your morning.<br \/>\n<strong>How to Do It:<\/strong> Stand with feet hip-width apart, keeping knees slightly bent <strong>(a)<\/strong>.\u00a0Bend forward from the hips, making sure to keep hips stacked directly over your ankles\u00a0<strong>(b)<\/strong>.\u00a0Pull your abs in toward your spine, letting your head hang and hold each elbow with the opposite hand. Sun Salutation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why It Works:<\/strong> This total-body flow warms up your upper <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/no-equipment-back-exercises\/\"   title=\"back\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"565\">back<\/a>, shoulders, core, legs and butt. And if you pick up the pace, it really gets your heart pumping \u2014 and can even be a mini cardio workout, says Lyons. (All before you even hop in the shower!)<br \/>\n<strong>How to Do It:<\/strong> Start in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/yoga-poses-down-dog-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">downward dog<\/a>. Hold for 10 deep breaths <strong>(a)<\/strong>. Slowly step your feet to your hands, inhaling as you stand up. Step your feet together and inhale as you lift your arms directly overhead <strong>(b)<\/strong>. Exhale and bend forward from the hips until your hands touch the floor or your shins, letting your head drop\u00a0(bend your knees slightly if your legs feel tight)\u00a0<strong>(c)<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Inhale and rise halfway, until your back is parallel to the floor, letting your hands rest on your shins as you look forward\u00a0<strong>(d)<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Exhale and step or jump both feet back to a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/ab-challenge-planks-workout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plank position<\/a>\u00a0<strong>(e)<\/strong>.\u00a0Lower to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/chaturanga-yoga-pose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chatarunga<\/a> <strong>(f)<\/strong>. Inhale and arch your back, pushing your chest forward and rolling your shoulders down. Engage your abdominals\u00a0<strong>(b)<\/strong>. This pose counteracts that posture,\u00a0opening your chest and sending oxygen to your heart \u2014 while warming up your legs, arms and core, too.<br \/>\n<strong>How to Do It:<\/strong> Sit with your legs extended in front of you, feet together, and palms on the floor about 12 inches behind your butt, fingers pointing forward\u00a0<strong>(a)<\/strong>. Inhale and lift your hips and belly up to the ceiling as you drop your head back, keeping palms pressed against the floor\u00a0<strong>(b)<\/strong>. Roll the shoulders back, opening your chest and heart\u00a0<strong>(c)<\/strong>.
