But have you ever sent your selfie to over 400,000 people? Perez Hilton has, and he does it every single Sunday on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BDeDk0Voapi\/?taken-by=theperezhilton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram<\/a>. When he was working on PerezHilton.com from a New York City coffee shop during the site\u2019s early days, Hilton started gaining weight from extra snacking. Over time, he began feeling more and more demoralized about his appearance, not to mention his energy level. Hilton knew he needed to make a change. Booze-fueled benders are few and far between for this father of two. Hilton works out five times a week and prioritizes eating real foods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, it\u2019s about showing up. Some days I have the worst workouts ever, but at least I know I put in some effort,\u201d said Hilton, after hitting a full-body workout on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/guest\/perezhilton?partner=life&amp;mtype=5&amp;ldate=040116&amp;grp=fitness&amp;crtv=perezhilton&amp;utm_source=life&amp;utm_medium=textlink&amp;utm_campaign=fitness&amp;utm_content=perezhilton&amp;sub_id=365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Burn 365<\/a>. \u201cSo long as I\u2019m there and I\u2019m eating healthy, I\u2019m good.\u201d <em>So<\/em> good, in fact, he had time to finish things off with this\u00a0no-nonsense\u00a0circuit,\u00a0dreamed up by <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/guest\/perezhilton?partner=life&amp;mtype=5&amp;ldate=040116&amp;grp=fitness&amp;crtv=perezhilton&amp;utm_source=life&amp;utm_medium=textlink&amp;utm_campaign=fitness&amp;utm_content=perezhilton&amp;sub_id=365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Burn<\/a> trainer Prince Brathwaite. Its name: &#8220;PEREZ,&#8221; of course.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Apk4_pBcg_I\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fit Perez, IRL: Perez Hilton&#8217;s Weight Loss Journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>But wait \u2014\u00a0how\u2019d the famous blogger\u00a0get on board with fitness to begin with? For Hilton, the first step was literally all about steps. In 2008, he challenged himself to walk for 30 minutes a day, five days a week. \u201cI tried so many times before\u2026I wanted to approach it in a real, achievable way,\u201d Hilton told Life by Daily Burn. \u201cAfter a month, I saw results, and results are the greatest motivator.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/fitness\/power-walking-treadmill-workouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Power Walkers: 3 Treadmill Workouts Just for You<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next, he changed up his eating habits. \u201cI would cheat so much because it was really hard,\u201d said Hilton. But with positive results, he remained energized and decided to take things up a notch. He started hitting the gym for real and committing to eating clean. \u201cSomebody else might get away with working out every day and eating pizza,\u201d says Hilton, \u201cbut that\u2019s not me. I need to work out <em>and<\/em> eat healthy. Eating healthfully works for me, but everybody\u2019s different.\u201d Now, he rarely strays from his whole foods-focused diet. (Margaritas and alcohol are an occasional treat!)<\/p>\n<p>The hardest part of maintaining progress? \u201cAfter a while you stop getting compliments,\u201d said Hilton. And nobody\u2019s congratulating us for <em>not <\/em>gaining weight, either. With a busy schedule full of travel, staying on track can also be tough. That\u2019s where balance comes in: Hilton maintains a healthy diet at home, but allows himself an indulgence or two while on the road.<\/p>\n<p>At home, he\u00a0has two kids to think of, too. \u201cIt\u2019s about learning a healthy approach to balance,\u201d said Hilton, who lets his son have not-so-healthy foods at birthday parties and on special occasions, but keeps sweets and fruit juices out of his kitchen. This is a far cry from how Hilton grew up himself, he says. \u201cFor my mom, her idea of salad was iceberg lettuce with mayonnaise!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today, Hilton has one major fitness goal: Continuing to gain lean muscle. \u201cOne of the things people don\u2019t like talking about is, when you lose a lot of weight \u2014 and I lost close to 80 pounds \u2014 everybody has loose skin,\u201d said Hilton. For him, that means prioritizing resistance workouts that build strength and size.<\/p>\n<p>You can bet he\u2019ll be showing up tomorrow. And the next day.
