I always make sure that every meal has protein and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyburn.com\/life\/health\/benefits-high-fiber-diet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fiber<\/a>, so I look for a pasta with those in the greatest quantity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Impossible? Not these days. Thanks to a new wave of healthy pasta products made with chickpeas, lentils and quinoa \u2014 many of which are gluten-free \u2014 nutritionist-approved noods <em>do<\/em> exist. But those aren\u2019t the only things you want to pay special attention to on a label. \u201cPasta is primarily made of carbohydrates, so focus on keeping the added sugar to a minimum,\u201d Alpert says. This means looking at your pasta dish as a whole.
