Nike’s New Snowboard Boot Lights Up the Slopes

Snow stoppers look out — there’s a new boot in town! While the fitness giant has made snowboard boots before, Nike is going 180 with their LunarENDOR QS.

The most noteworthy feature? The famous swoosh on the outside of the boot is made up of 30-LED lights powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The switch is located on the top cuff of the boot for easy access, so athletes can turn it on and off as they wish.

Nike has also incorporated their signature Lunarlon foam into the sole of the shoe, hence the boot’s name. This foam is said to provide balance between cushion and stability for the rider, and helps to absorb impact from hard landings. And don’t worry about having too much flexibility; the boot features a flex system, so users can personalize how stiff they want the fit to be. Plus, the Flywire inner lacing hugs your foot for that secure feeling you crave while shredding the park.

Expect to see the LunarENDOR QS’s lighting up the upcoming snowboard competition finals, then making their Olympic debut at Sochi. And when it’s your turn to shine, the boots will be available for purchase in mid-December on Nike.com and local Nike SB retailers in limited quantity. Though price hasn’t been released yet, we predict they’ll be flying off the shelves.
