Protein Frosty Shake Recipe

This delicious shake is a dairy-free, gluten-free and soy-free version of a Frosty — yes, the one we all enjoyed as kids — fortified with  protein powder. Xanthan gum, a whitish powder that is a by-product of bacterial fermentation, helps thicken the treat (in place of fat). In this recipe, it’s an essential ingredient for getting that unmistakable Frosty consistency.

Protein Frosty Shake Recipe

Serves 1

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

2 scoops chocolate protein powder
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 banana
2 cups ice
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to blender, and blend until smooth.
